Olga del Pilar Woolfson Touma graduated as an architect from the Central University of Ecuador in 1980 with a thesis related to the Historic Center of Quito; specialized in heritage conservation in Florence–Italy, Puebla–Mexico, Trujillo (Chanchán)–Peru and in Ecuador. She has also made more than 30 courses and seminars on this subject.She studied the Master in Neotropical Archaeology at the Escuela Politecnica del Litoral ESPOL, Faculty of Earth Sciences FCIT- Corporation of Anthropology and History CONAH Guayaquil, 2010–2012 and is currently doing his thesis.She has a Diploma in Public Management, carried out at the San Francisco University of Quito, in agreement with the Municipality of the Metropolitan District of Quito. Other courses on the subject have been carried out in Granada–Spain and in Ecuador. Extensive work experience in heritage conservation issues covers participation in several public entities such as the National Institute of Cultural Heritage, the Heritage Coordinating Ministry, the Cultural Heritage Salvation Fund of Quito, the Museums of the Central Bank of Ecuador and the Planning Department of the Municipality of Quito. Involved in about 600 projects of recovery, conservation and preservation of heritage throughout the country, in addition to the registration of 80,000 cultural assets of Ecuador in five fields (archaeological, documentary, real estate, furniture and immaterial). As a consultant for the Malecon 2000 and Municipal Guayaquil Siglo XXI foundations, she was the author of the studies and director of the architectural urban restoration works of the Las Peñas neighborhood (Numa Pompilio Llona Street) and studies and color proposals of the center of Guayaquil. She has researched architecture and other heritage, designed and executed architectural works. Recently she made alternatives in bamboo, in the areas affected by the earthquake of April 2016. She has made several technical consultancies in the country and abroad (San Salvador, Venezuela, Chile). She has published more than 30 papers and articles for specialized magazines and books, as well as special contributions for reports and the written press. She has participated in the production of two videos and a compact disc with technical information. Co–author of three books about the works of the Cultural Heritage Salvation Fund of Quito and one about the Historical Center. Co–author of the final report of the Emergency Decree on Cultural Heritage. She has given no less than 40 technical exhibitions, in relation to the conservation of cultural heritage, some of them outside the country. She participated as a professor of two courses, the first on conservation and the second on risks at the Universidad Andina Simon Bolívar UASB, Quito. Actually She is member of College of Architects of Ecuador and of Fundacón Patrimonio Union Iberoamericana de Municipalistas (UIM).
