Flávio Borda d'Água is archivist at the State Archives of Geneva, scientific assistant at the Voltaire Museum of the Bibliothèque de Genève and doctoral student in early modern history at the University of Geneva. After a MA in history at the University of Geneva, in October 2005 he began a doctoral research in early modern history. His research focuses on the history of police and justice during the Enlightenment, criminal liberalism and also around Voltaire historiographer and the Voltairean reception in the Portuguese-speaking world. He is also one of seven winners of the CUSO 40th Anniversary Award (2009) and is a member of the Scientific Review Committee of Cadernos do Arquivo Municipal (Archival Papers). Municipal, Lisbon. Members of various professional and scholarly societies, including the Geneva History and Archeology Society, of which he is treasurer, ICOM Switzerland, the Swiss History Society (member of the "Interest of the profession" department) .
