Giorgio Cesarale (1977) graduated at University of Rome “La Sapienza”, from which he also obtained his Ph. D. in Philosophy. From May 4 2006 to May 30 2007 he has been visiting scholar at the Philosophy Department of the Boston College (USA). He also spent one year at the Hegel-Archiv of the Ruhr-Universität Bochum in order to continue his research. In the last years, his main subject of interest was the Hegelian political philosophy, to which he devoted his Ph.D. thesis, entitled La teoria hegeliana della società civile nella Filosofia del diritto [The Hegelian Theory of Civil Society in the Philosophy of Right]. But his studies also address contemporary political philosophy and sociology of globalization. Presently, he is doing research on contemporary neo-hegelianism. In particular, he is paying attention to the re-interpretation that, in recent years, practical Hegelian philosophy underwent by a large and lively group of American scholars and philosophers, among which Robert Pippin, Terry Pinkard, Frederik Neuhouser, Michael O. Hardimon.
