Liu Guopeng

Liu Guopeng was born on February 8,1972 in Fuping, Shaanxi Province of P. R. China.
Liu Guopeng is an associate professor at the Institute of World Religions, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, P.R. China. His research focuses on the modern and contemporary history of Catholic Church in China and the relationship between China and Vatican in the modern era.
Liu Guopeng received his Ph.D. degree from the Insitute of Modern and Contemporary History at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milano, in 2006. Between January and October of 2008, he was the visiting scholar in Laboratoire « Communication, Information, Médias » (CIM) at the University of Paris III-Sorbonne Nuovelle, France.
As a young scholar he won the sixth Hu Sheng Academic Award for Young Scholars of China (2012) for his newest publication Celso Costantini and the Indigenization of Catholic Church in China in 2012. In 2013 he served as a visiting scholar at the Università degli Studi di Roma Tre, Rome, Italy.
