Edgar Morìn, born on July 8th 1921, is one of the greatest contemporary sociologists. Being a research director at the CNRS, he is attached to a knowledge freed from any subdivisions, a knowledge able to respond to challenge due to reality’s complexity. Dr Morìn has published no less than 40 books during his career, has received 18 PhDs honoris causa from 10 different countries, and has devoted an important part of his life to the research of a Method (6 publications) to take up the said challenge, which nowadays applies not only to scientific knowledge, but also to today’s human, social and political problems.
