Evangelos Kourdis is Associate Professor of Translation Semiotics in the Department of French Language & Literature, Faculty of Philosophy, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He holds a PhD in the Sciences and Theories of the Language and Communication of the Faculty of Philosophy, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. His scientific interests are mainly concentrated in the field of Sociosemiotics, Translation Semiotics, Sociolinguistics, Language Ideology and Cultural Communication. He is vice president of the Hellenic Semiotic Society, member of the Hellenic Society for Translation Studies, member of the Laboratory of Semiotics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH SemioLab) and of the Semiotics and Visual Communication Laboratory of the Cyprus University of Technology. He is also the national representative of Greece to the International Association for Semiotic Studies, and Review Editor of «Punctum–International Journal of Semiotics» of the Hellenic Semiotic Society.
