Fabrizio Mocavini was born in Rome, July 14, 1963. He lives in Rome, is married and has a daughter.In 1989 he took a degree in Economics at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” and he has got the titles of professional and chartered accountant.Since 1985 he works for the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance – State General Accounting Department. Until 2003 he dealt with State budget management following the main reforms in the public accounting area.Currently he works as head of Unit in the Research and studies Directorate of the same Institution. He focuses his interests in the matters of performance measurement, Public Internal Financial Control, and accounting standards and he published several papers and studies on the same subjects.Among his duties, on behalf of his department, he also takes care of relations with other Countries, international Institutions and bodies. In particular as representatives of the Italian MEF Fabrizio Mocavini participated in several international meetings (OECD and EU) over the last fifteen years. He was and still is project leader and expert in various EU twinning projects in the field of budget management, financial control and public accounting (Lithuania, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Slovak Republic, Poland). He is technical advisor in IPSAS Board. He is also Auditor in Italian public entities and private companies owned by public local government (Region).
